MBBS and M.D, Degrees from the Government Medical College Jammu (J&K). He is a postgraduate in obstetrics and Gynecology and later trained as a Fetal medicine specialist in Canada and in Prenatal diagnosis in Croatia, where he achieved good experience before returning to India

He has got an experience of over 15 years in this field. He had been an active member of Foundation for prevention of birth disorders as founder Secretary General of this organisation.He has been involved in performing all types of specialised fetal scans and fetal diagnostic procedures like chorionic villous sampling, amniocentesis and cordocentesis. He has performed more than 2000 amniocentesis procedures.
